DUE TO OVERWHELMING RESPONSE NEW DATES JUST ANNOUNCED FOR
THE MONSTER BALL TOUR STARRING LADY GAGA
BUDAPEST, 7TH NOVEMBER CONFIRMED!
Budapest – 26/04/2010 – Lady Gaga, one of the most exciting and innovative new artists in recent history has announced a fall extension to her already sold out European tour. The Monster Ball starring Lady Gaga launches May 7th in Stockholm, Sweden and will make stops in Germany, Holland, Belgium, France and the UK prior to embarking overseas for her North American dates. Now, due to overwhelming success, The Monster Ball tour will return to Europe this fall for a new series of dates beginning in Helsinki on October 13th. Confirmed tour dates and venues are attached and available at: www.ladygaga.com.
In keeping with Lady Gaga’s flair for the theatrical, as well as her innovative and creative spirit, the second leg of the tour promises to push the limits of the live concert experience, bringing fans a spectacle even more eye-popping than what they experienced during the thrilling first leg of The Monster Ball.
Critics around the world raved about the first leg of The Monster Ball Tour, which Gaga described as “the first-ever pop-electro opera.” The Sun called it “breathtaking stuff” and “the best live show you will see this year,” while London’s Independent wrote: “Gaga’s got it, which is why, right now, the whole pop world wants to take a ride on her disco stick.” Writing about her show at Radio City Music Hall, the New York Times noted that “her Monster Ball tour always provided something worth a snapshot: a sci-fi tableau, perhaps, or a skimpy, glittery costume. The more her image gets around, the better Lady Gaga does.”
Live Nation Global Touring is the International tour promoter and producer for The Monster Ball under the direction of Arthur Fogel, CEO Global Touring and Chairman – Global Music Live Nation who said: “Lady Gaga has set out to revolutionize pop music and with her new production she continues to do exactly that. We’re thrilled to take The Monster Ball to fans around the world.”
Lady Gaga is touring in support of The Fame Monster, which was released on November 18th, 2009, by Streamline/Konlive/Cherrytree/Interscope. The album is the follow-up to 2008’s Grammy Award-winning album The Fame, which spawned the No. 1 singles “Just Dance” and “Poker Face.” Combined, The Fame and The Fame Monster have sold 11.5 million albums worldwide, while Lady Gaga’s five singles, “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” “Lovegame,” “Paparazzi,” and “Bad Romance,” have sold more than 30 million singles worldwide. The video for “Bad Romance” has racked up more than 125 million online views. Lady Gaga recently premiered the video for her new single “Telephone,” featuring Beyoncé, on the E! television network and entertainment website VEVO.

Erkel exhibition
05/06/2010. - 15/03/2011.
Exhibition
Liszt Ferenc Memorial Museum
This exhibition attempts to bring to life the tasks, problems and successes of the head of the Academy, and is based mostly on the rich documentation of the Academy. The interesting proceedings of the conferences provide a great aid to informing us about the educational order and tasks of the institution, as well as the necessity of involving further teachers, or the organization of the lessons and subjects. From different written requests we can see portraits of Hungarian musicians who became very famous later.
The Hungarian Royal Academy of Music began its operation in 1875 after long preparatory work (it took almost half a decade) with only five teachers and 39 pupils. The chairman of the institution and the head of the piano master course was Franz Liszt, the director and head of the piano class was Ferenc Erkel. Further teachers were Robert Volkmann (composition), Kornél Ábrányi senior (secretary-general, and teacher of theoretical and historical subjects), and Sándor Nikolits (musical theory). Although Liszt’s international reputation and esteem itself meant the institution acquired a great rank from the start before other countries, its permanent activity and development went on under the directorship of Erkel.
The period when Erkel was the director (1875-1887) was a determining one in the development of the Academy, since in 1879 the institution managed to acquire the Old Building (which is still today in operation) for its use, making it possible to develop musical education efficiently. With the exhibition we would of course like to document also Erkel’s activity as a teacher. Besides his own person, his colleagues and pupils are also brought to life. It can only be the general achievement of the whole school staff and the students which can confirm the aspirations of the director, Ferenc Erkel.
The exhibition will be opened by Dr. András Batta, the president of the Music Academy. After the inauguration, Ilona Prunyi will give a piano recital at 6 PM. The concert will be based on works by the first teachers of the Academy. Also taking part will be András Emszt (a student at the Academy).

Ozzy Osbourne Concert
04/10/2010.
Pop, rock
Papp László Budapest Sports Arena
A cruel, surreal, surprising show - Ozzy Osbourne in Budapest
Ozzy Osbourne will also perform in Budapest during his tour which kicks-off in the summer.
The rock star, who became famous as the frontman of Black Sabbath and is known for his scandals and TV show appearances as well as his music, will perform at the Papp László Sports Arena on 4 October. As always, Ozzy Osbourne will take to the stage with huge technical equipment, gigantic sets, and video and light technology. He will line up all the devils and angels, demons and ghosts who are the recurring cast of his solo albums and who inspire him or force him into the frightening madness which causes the heightened atmosphere of his concerts, and which makes it an unforgettable experience for all those who participate.
Ozzy has only been to Hungary once, he played in Kisstadion at the time when Black Sabbath reunited in 2001. He would have had a sold-out concert at the Budapest Arena in 2004 but unfortunately that was cancelled as he had his infamous quad-bike accident at the time, which caused Ozzy to spend a year in hospital and cancel over 40 of his shows.
From 1970, Ozzy Osbourne made 10 albums with Black Sabbath, which altogether sold 50 million copies. In 1979 he left the band and launched his solo-career. His first album was the Blizzard of Ozz in 1980, which went platinum four-times. During his solo career, Ozzy has also sold approximately 50 million records and performed in front of millions of fans. He was awarded a Grammy for the first time in 1993 in the Best Metal Performer category for the song entitled I Don't Want To Change the World. During his 20 years at Epic Records he issued 13 albums, and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Sunset Boulevard.
Together with his wife Sharon- who is also his manager- they created the Ozzfest in 1996 which was the first specifically hard rock festival where young bands could also get a chance to play. After a year of absence, following the single-concert „special edition” of 2008, the Ozzfest will return again this year with a line-up that includes performers such as Mötley Crüe, and Rob Halford, the frontman of Judas Priest besides Ozzy.
Film director Penelope Spheeris dedicated an entire film to the Ozzfest entitled We Sold Our Souls For Rock 'n' Roll and we could also see Ozzy in one of Adam Sandler’s movies, Goldmember, too. With his family reality TV show, Ozzy also entered his name into the history of television, as „The Osbournes” was the most-watched show on Music Television. Ozzy’s autobiography written in collaboration with Chris Ayres entitled I Am Ozzy was published last year.
